Employer Perspectives on Flexibility in the Manufacturing Sector

Corporate Voices, in partnership with WorldatWork, the Society for Human Resource Management, WFD Consulting and the Twiga Foundation, conducted virtual focus groups in conjunction with the National Workplace Flexibility Dialogues organized by the U.S. Department of Labor's Women’s Bureau. In 2005, Corporate Voices published the original “Business Impacts of Flexibility: An Imperative for Expansion,” a ground-breaking report which compared internal business data from 29 companies to find that the business benefits of flexibility were real, and were only partially realized. Corporate Voices has updated and re-released this report, in which we continue to document the business benefits of workplace flexibility, as well as its growing role as a strategic business imperative for domestic and global enterprises.

Corporate Voices Toolkits Provide Tips and Tools for Implementing Workplace Flexibility with an Hourly and Nonexempt Workforce

Washington, D.C. (February 18, 2010) –Establishing flexible work arrangements with an hourly and nonexempt workforce can be challenging, yet there are many examples of how flexibility can be used to achieve business results while at the same time benefiting hourly workers.
