  • National Workplace Flexibility Campaign
Corporate Voices was asked at the first-ever White House Forum on Workplace Flexibility in March 2010 to lead a campaign to engage the business community in creating a broader awareness of the positive business and employee benefits of workplace flexibility. Since then, Corporate Voices and its campaign partners have conducted targeted outreach to businesses to sign the Statement of Support for Expanding Workplace Flexibility. By signing this Statement, business leaders commit their support for flexibility as a strategic talent management tool, and encourage their peers to recognize that flexibility improves business results, empowers working families and enhances America’s economic competitiveness.

This campaign was made possible by the generous support of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

  • Workplace Lactation

Corporate Voices has published an online workplace lactation toolkit to help employers establish successful workplace lactation programs and comply with new provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) passed into law with health care reform in 2010. The toolkit provides high-quality, practical resources including informational guides and worksheets, employer talking points, educational breastfeeding resources, posters, advocacy tools for health professionals, best practice success stories and more.

This resource will help educate businesses and working mothers about federal workplace lactation requirements and about the benefits of workplace lactation programs. Given that mothers with infants are one of the largest and fastest-growing segments in the workforce, particularly in lower-wage industries, helping to support nursing mothers at work is important for the economic security and health of mothers, infants and working families. It is also important for business success. Corporate Voices is engaged in a targeted outreach campaign to businesses, the media, health professionals, the Executive Branch and Congress to raise awareness about the tools and resources available to help businesses support their nursing mothers.
