Best of Congress

Just in time for the momentous elections of 2012, Corporate Voices for Working Families and Working Mother Media will honor the 2012 Best of Congress – An award that recognizes excellence in supporting working Americans and their families.

After two successful Award recognitions, senators and representatives will once again be asked to submit detailed applications to be considered for the Best of Congress Award, presented by Working Mother Media and Corporate Voices, the leading national business membership organization representing the private sector voice in the dialogue on public policy issues involving working families.

An in-depth review of all applications will be conducted by our prestigious bipartisan Steering Committee:

  • Arianna Huffington, President and Editor-in-Chief of The Huffington Post Media Group; (co-chair)
  • Hon. Jane Swift, Chief Executive Officer of Middlebury Interactive Languages and former Governor of Massachusetts; (co-chair)
  • Hon. Patricia Schroeder, Former President and CEO of the Association of American Publishers and former Congresswoman from Colorado
  • Ted Childs, Founder and Principal of Ted Childs, LLC;
  • Patricia Kempthorne, President and CEO of the Twiga Foundation; and

We Will Honor Our Best of Congress Recipients In The Following Ways

1. Our Best of Congress Awards Breakfast will be held July 25, 2012 in Washington, D.C. Recipients will accept their award in front of an audience of corporate executives and opinion leaders.

2. Working Mother’s August/September issue and WorkingMother.com will feature a dramatic group photo of all the winners. The magazine will reach every member of Congress, all governors, key mayors and the CEOs of major companies – PLUS two million Working Mother readers.

3. WorkingMother.com will feature extended information about each winner plus special web only features on progressive corporate policies involving working families.

4. Featured in the Best of Congress 2012 directory, which is presented to each member of Congress and used as a resource guide for members’ staff. Members will also be featured during the 113th Congress freshman orientation.

5. Awardees will be featured in exclusive Washington, D.C. media outlets.
